7650 Can't match motorola & ericsson bluetooth is it truth? |

i try motorola bluetooth handset,but 7650 just only detect a motorola device name,but can't hear any dail tone on the headset,bluetooth function it can't support headset,how come?any suggest about on it? |

the 7650 AFAIK does not support the headset profile, hence, you cannot use a bluetooth headset (of any brand, including nokia) |

how come? thought bluetooth is open specs.. since in nokia or sonyericsson or any other brands should be able to use voice !

do we look like were lying?  yes, bluetooth is an open standard but it's up to the manufacturer to implement specific bluetooth profiles, and it's nokia's choice not to implement headset profile. ask jh67, he played with 7650 already. i tried bluetooth headset on 6310 and it works, on the 7650 no. |

Of course Bluetooth is an open standard, so is the internet. But not everyone on the internet offers every possible functionality. To make an example, server A offers a webserver, and server B offers telnet. Both servers are part of the internet although they doesn't offer the same functionality. It is the same with Bluetooth. Bluetooth itselv is only a way of transporting bits and bytes through the air. To actually use it to something you have to have devices offering services (in the Bluetooth-world they are called "Profiles"). And it is up to the manufactures to decide which profile they want to offer in their products. For more information on this concept; http://www.bluetooth.org/specifications.htm

i very disappointed why NOKIA do this function.this handset is large but i like this handset function.i perpear to buy a bluetooth to solve the size problem but .........(~>~)?maybe i trade it use my motorola handset is better than use NOKIA. |

I spoke to Nokia on the Amsterdam bluetooth congress,..they said that they encountered some problems with the Symbian OS and bluetooth headset profile,...thats why the 7650 does not have headset profile.
They also told, that the headset profile might come as a software upgrade later on.
So if people wanna use bluetooth headsets,..then you'll have to live without the 7650,..at least for now.

Then the P800 will also have problems with Bluetooth handsfree, since it is also a Symbian phone...

JAS > Nope,..P-800 uses a newer version of Symbian (V7),..Nokia is v6.1. P-800 works fine with headset
And another thing is,..there's nothing "wrong" with Symbian v6.1,..the problem "might" just be related to something else 
They just told,..that "they" had som "problems" with it.

i trade out my 7650 already,may be i will buy t68i (black version),because i saw every user comment is ok,it don't have any big problem,so i feel this headset is stable.Anybody hava a final advise?
