i am going to buy a 6230 and i would like some comments from the holders of this phone it would be helpful!

Thankfully i dont have one. And here is my reaction to the phone- :puke: if it isnt late, i will ask you to change you mine. (It is not even a symbian! Only series40) dont get it. Waste of money.

Its the biggest nokia rip-off in my opinion. They are promotin it as a multimedia phone but its display is pathetic greatly affectin camera functions, video record/playback n you'll be forced to play same old s40 tho its java implementation is good and it could run s60 java. Well known s40 issues of random restarts/hangups persist. Users complain of receivin wrong mime type error quite often durin downloads. Bad camera which blurs very easily even on slightest movement. Looks plain borin imo. Stay away mate |

The only positive it has over the K700 is the expandable memory - so concider it if you really want that!

What positive,are you sure about it ??
You mean listen to average quality MP3 songs or poor video playback with a tiny litle screen.
Even the videorecorder is limit even it has a memorystickslot??? |

Infact i would term edge as its only positive coz it doesnt need expandable memory. You surely dont expect to watch a full simpsons episode on that small,dull display??  As for its mp3 player its ok but nokia headphones arent(lack bass) and since they connect via pop port you cant change them with your own. Also its equiliser is a gimmick, does nothing to the sound. |

i know i posted this to ask but i got a brochure and it tells me its mp3 is better than some s60 edge up to 1g memo really good gprs high resolution screen it can view html pages it has bluetooth and infrared the only thing to complain about is the price but not off ebay

Its mp3 is better than s60 coz s60 suck at mp3 playback(most dont even have stereo output) so the comparision standards are set very low...compare to k7 yourselves and decide.
1 gig memory but first of all that'll cost lots extra and secondly as explained above this phone doesnt need it.
Edge is good.
High res screen is somethin nokia write in all brochures(even s30 ). It has a small,dull 128*128 display while k7 has 176*220 and s60 has 176*208 i.e. approx twice as many pixels. Go to a shop and compare display for yourselves.
Almost all phones nowadays can view xhtml. Btw k7 has 300k cache so will even open basic websites unlike this phone.
Practically every phone costing this much has bluetooth and infrared besides k7 can also be used as bluetooth remote.
All said and done its your call but i would say dont get it. My mate has one and hes regrettin spendin serious cash on this phone. |

it'll be good for a normal user. but nv think of watching a movie off it. you'll puke.
the mp3 playback is acceptable. the MEDIA EQUILISER DOES WORK.
camera wise..it's alright, but make sure u get the latest firmware. i had the old firmware and the pictures turned out dark, real dark.
design wise, it's old nokia-style, so do not expect much from the buttons. =)
bluetooth implementation is real bad.
wierd User Interface. though it has 3 soft keys compared to the old 2 soft keys, it is not well implemented. i guess series40 is not supposed to have 3 soft keys.
keypad, especially the d-pad needs some getting used to.
low build quality.u cant afford to have a lose casing, or u'll find the speaker cracking. i just realised that the fone is assembled by many individual parts. so when the casing gets lose, everyting vibrates when the loudspeaker is on.
overall, i'll give it a 7/10. it may seem a bit to high to some ppl, but u must consider the fact that it pioneered the non-smartphone, vga-mp3 player class. |

It all depends on your usage and personal preference. I have one and can honestly say its a good phone and i am extremely satisfied wit it. If you have no need for symbian features and the tweaks that come wit the more high end phones, well the 6230 might be the phone for you. Battery life is good in my opinion. Moreover, its small and sturdy. Have had no major problems wit it yet. The k700i is also good. Guess it all boils down to which you prefer. Good luck.

i like it due to its features but i really wanted it when i touched the buttons off the 3120 which are easy to type and smooth theyre like the 6230 but the 6230 has great features and i think its the one for me! |
