Whats the quality like of the aftermarket housings available? Ebay ones etc? And most importantly, do you have to use crappy rubber keypads? I hate rubber keypads!

How difficult are they to swap (full housings)? What size Torx driver is needed?

Any reliable suppliers of housings in the UK?

Thanks

You can use your original keypad, all parts are interchangeable. I got mine from gsmsquare in Hong Kong. They looked identical to the ones being sold by Nightic on this forum. When I got it it was pretty shabby, it was cracked at the top and a slight defect by the speaker. It's probably the luck of the draw but I would pay the £4 extra and get them from Nightic.

i think it's more likely, as you put it, "luck of the draw". i've already ordered 2 casings (a silver one for me and a blue one for my g/f) from gsmsquare, and they are both excellent (no cracks or defects, and fit perfectly). i don't see any reason to pay more than $20 for a new casing... i kept my original back and keypad though, since they were in good shape.

i didn't change the back part, i kept the original... but i'm sure it's not a problem, you can probably just peel it off and stick it back on the other one (as you would do if you ordered a new antenna "sticker" and had to install it).

Thanks Badger - I'm finding quite a lot of GSM Square customers are coming to me after they buy a case from Hong Kong that arrives cracked, split or with their screen having fallen out.

Something all customers ought to know about these covers is that very rarely can they be sent out without having some attention paid to them - either having some stray bits of plastic from the moulding trimmed or having their screen heat-glued back into place - I inspect and if necessary amend every cover before I send it out - then each one is individually bubble wrapped and placed in an air-protected envelope - that is why in all this time I have never had a cover returned needing replacement. I'm afraid you'll find that most other sellers of these covers do not pay this level of attention to their product.

Another thing you might like to consider is that the typical delivery time for covers in stock from me is 1-2 days for UK, 3 days for EU and 5 days for the US - I also offer a very wide range of payment options to suit just about everybody.

However, I understand the need to remain competitive whilst still maintaining a high level of service and this is why next week I will be lowering my prices once again - please keep an eye on the 'accessories for sale' forum for details.

Many thanks to all, especially my previous customers and those yet to come - Ciao for now.
