I recently got my D500 on Orange. After comparing with a colleague's (T-Mobile) his phone screen seemed brighter, seemed to have more features and had better standard icons etc than the bland orange schemes. (Quarter of a million colours but let's design a colour scheme using just four...Orange, Err.. grey, a dark grey...oh and a white)
Anyway got me thinkin'. Is there any way to have the phone firmware flashed to rid the phone of the 'Orange' menus etc. Talked to an official service centre but they say it has to be unlocked first (That they can't do because their an official service centre...)and then quoted the latest version of software on the D500 (which I unfortunately I never wrote down) My questions:
Has anyone managed to rid their D500 of the Orange Stuff?
How do find out the current software version on my phone?
Would flashing to original Samsung firmware affect the phone from working?(Eg If Orange sent an auto Sim update etc later)?

Any advice appreciated

hey i hate orange and vodacrap they way the wresck phones by putting the tacky customisation, you can debrand it by using a program called opti-flash and it will not effect the phone or anything else like that.

the d500 on voda is totally unbranded... we didnt want a poor excuse for a phone as a live handset.
