Only for existing customers with high spend for retention purposes. They will not match it for new customers as it is not a comparable service (as anyone who has used 3 will tell you!)

3 is ultra cheap for calls.
I just changed my YP 120 to an OVP O2 100 which includes 100txts!
My bill should come down significantly now!! Orange really should offer some tarrifs with inclusive texts. |

Remember that with the Orange Value Promise you wont always get the luxury of free 0800 numbers that usually come with an Orange tariff,a mistake that i made a few years back |

@boyi
One of the nice things about Orange tariffs I thought.
But I'd rather save £20 a month than have the luxury of free 0800 that I hardly ever use |

Orange couldn't match my 02 so i migrated and got a nice phone. They really need more good handsets. . .

I agree. The main reason I went to Orange from O2 is that they had the K700 and a good deal on new contracts at the time and O2 couldnt match the offer. If they hadn't had the K700 then I would probably of just stayed with O2 as I never had any problems with them. |

oranges online plans include free text ie online120 120mins xnet and 250 texts 25 quid a month.
even if your an existing customer they will let you go onto one of these online plans. i did just phoned them up said i wanted to leave and go to 3 and they said i could have an online plan. well worth it my bills have halfed and customer service is still free. |

Another reason why i stay with Orange And yes i do use the free 0800 numbers too, i dont have a home phone anymore so its ideal
btw,i asked Orange for the upgrade to an online plan but they said i would'nt get the sms with it,got the k700i for free on upgrade in the end anyway,im happy with that
If nobody wants it.. put it on eBay. |

doesnt the Hutchinson Telecomms Group own both Orange and Three?!?
It was hypothesised that Hutchinson used Three to 'dip its toe' into the new technology to test the response rate of consumers!
I dont see why Orange couldnt match Three when they both have the same parent company!!!
Just my £0.02 ;D

Right,
Just found this on some site:
Orange:
Originally owned by a consortium of British Aerospace and Hutchison (a major Hong Kong corporation), Orange has been sold to Mannesman, a German mobile phone network. Mannesman was in turn taken over by Vodafone, who sold Orange to France Telecom. France Telecom then floated Orange as a separate company and arr trying to extract as much revenue from it as possible.
3:
Three, or "3" as they prefer to be called, are the newest entrants of the UK mobile networks. Owned by Hutchison, the original owners of Orange, 3 bought a UTMS (3G) mobile licence, and their March 2003 UMTS (3G) launch date put them well ahead in offering this new service in the UK.
