There are two types of gprs accounts. One is a wap account which allows only wap sites to be browsed. The other is a full gprs account which offers full internet access and even access to pop3 mail. I dunno much about the t610 as a modem thing. But to use it as a modem you need to have full internet access activated by your service provider. Thanks

Ok. To access the net you need to have a data account and an internet profile. Gprs is a type of data account. Another type is gsm based dial up. Internet profiles are basically of 3 types. 1, wap. 2, full internet. 3, mms. You need to create a data account, then only create an internet profile. In setting up the profile, i will ask for the type of data account to be used. (Gprs or dial up) you need full internet to access the net on laptop.

i got this from SE website -
In the PC: For GPRS connection:
1- Double click "Dial-Up Networking Wizard"
2- Create a new Dial-Up Connection > Select "GPRS"
3- Select "INSTALL MODEM
4- Select "T610 modem". Click "NEXT"
5- USER ID: mnet
PASSWORD: mnet
6- Select: (DIALING UP NETWORKING)> select the connection you made and dial
I think you have to have a data account already set up in the phone ie. all the required settings must already be in place in the phone
This is the procedure i followed in my k700 and it worked, the gprs icon even came up but i didnt have a data account at the time so i couldnt browse html pages at the time
If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence of your attempt !! |
