I can use my phone as a stand alone modem (wired or wireless BT) only if I use one ISP access number. It does not connect if I use multiple numbers by separating them with coma command. I understand that pauses between different numbers in one string can be made by inserting,,,,,. For some reason my mobile does not take “pause” command by using coma rule.
On the other hand I do not have problem using pause rule one I use phone’s own key pad. (Pause can be attained by pressing * key longer until ‘p’ appear. This ‘p’ means pause.)
Can anyone suggests where is the problem and how it can be resolved. So far I have narrowed down that problem is only with SE700i which does not accept pause command via PC, Laptop, and PDA. Perhaps I need to use another command instead of coma, or perhaps SE700i needs firmware update. As I have bought my mobile very recently, its software is well updated.

As far as i am aware the phone can only dial one ISP at a time. I have never heard of any phone that can dial more than one isp at a time. A computer can only do it if you have 2 modems and 2 phone lines and then it doesnt work most of the time.

I am not trying to connect two modems at a time. What I am trying to do is to get access my modem indirectly. Rather than dialling ISP access number directly I am trying to dial a number of Phone Company (for cheaper phone call) which is supposed to connect me with my ISP’s modem.
I have tried it with normal modem and the method works perfectly. For example in the dial up I first add company’s access number (0207xxxxxxxx) separate it with come (pause rule) and then I add the ISP access number (08xxxxxxxx). No problems in getting access to ISP.
However When I try to apply the same rule when using SE k700i as modem, phone does not dial the second number. It does dial the first number only if I use “p” instead of “,” (coma) for pause.
Problem suggested that either SE 700i can not dial multiple numbers in a string, or it takes some other word (instead of “,” or “p”) to command it as pause. Or perhaps some firmware is needed to enable multiple numbers in a dialling string.
