Looks like your right, the P800 wins on nearly everything!
By the way, does anyone know anything about GAP (Generic Access Protocol)? It has this term under the Bluetooth section of the comparison.
I recently bought a digitial cordless (DECT) phone which also claims to be GAP compatible. Is this the same 'GAP' and does it mean my phone is interoperable with Bluetooth? |

No, your GAP is DECT GAP, while Bluetooth has it's own GAP
Take a look at this very technical description av a DECT stack:
http://www.tality.com/technologies/dect/dect-gap.html
I am not an expert on this but to me it seems the abrivetian GAP is used both for Bluetooth and DECT. I quess that GAP for DECT means your phone can be used toghether with other DECT equipment, but not Bluetooth.

By the way, 7650's bluetooth function cannot support any type of bluetooth headset.........even nokia's own bluetooth headset.........so what's the point of the bluetooth function on 7650?? Nokia just wanna fool people around............P800 is the only choice !!!!!! |

The 7650 is smaller and the bluetooth can be used for other things than headset, did u know? ;-) the p800 is like a big pocket pc it doesnt fit any pocket, u cant take it to the club or anything. By the way, the picture resolution is much better on the 7650. Only good thing with the p800 is that u can switch sony memory stick and play mp3z, but its still too god damn big! Cheers/ dennis

P800 is only marginally bigger than 7650.......which is not much difference ......and I do not think that 7650's camera resolution is better than P800........since sony has been in camera market for long time........surely sony ericsson will utilise sony's expertise on this area.............surely P800 is unbeatable !!!!!!! |

denpa:
What do you mean by "the picture resolution is much better on the 7650"? the P800 screen is of higher resolution than the Nokia 7650, and the camera have a 640*480 resolution in both phones. How does
this make the 7650 better than tha P800?
And if you think the P800 is to big to carry to the club, try the 7650, the size difference is hardly worth mentioning. the 7650 feels like carrying a lunchbox in your pocket!

Nokia's faking the consumers again ... no audio function for bluetooth ? Then wat the f**k they designed the bluetooth headset for ? If u hold the 7650 to ur ear u'll look like a idiot !
P800 wins hands down .... Nokia's going down ! |

Denpa, where did you get ur conclusion that the P800 is so huge???? There's a difference of 1mm. The 7650 is a brick when opened... ONLY dual-band, SMALL, SMALL screen, a PATHETIC 4MB memory, and no BT headset function....and I'm sure it has Nokia's famed battery life!
I'm not gonna lug around something THAT big that doesn't have ANY modern features. Camera on both 7650 and P800 are 640x480....so why is the 7650 clearer????? Screen size? You gotta be kidding me... that pathetic excuse for a screen on the 7650??? I'll take my T68i and MCA-20 over the brick phone 7650. The P800 is a communicator, which BTW is much smaller than the Nokia refrigerator 9210, which btw is still dual-band, no GPRS, and THAT IS HUGE! |

both phones just a tad too big for me, i predict the 7650 will be a flop, will be too expensive at first then will drastically drop in price and ultimately fail much like the 5510, but the P800 will be the star of the show, trump card is the MemoryStick feature - cant lose adding that!

I agree with decoy7, both phones are a little too big to carry around the whole time. However if I had to choose it would be the p800. There is no SE bias here, looking at the specifications the P800 is clearly the winner.
I think Nokia has lost its way slightly here - I can't imagine many people choosing the 7650 over the P800 when they compare them in a shop (providing the pricing is similar).
I still can't believe Nokia would implement bluetooth on a phone but not enable the headset module. Is this really true? If so they are clearly out of their tiny minds! |
