HBH-30 & S700i - Voice Dialling setup problem |

Help!
HBH-30 is paired to S700i and can be used to pick up calls. Can't set up Voice dialling as when try to Add voice tag, if I press the HBH-30 button, the 'pips' just keep going for about 10 secs and the the HBH disconnects.
Can anyone tell me the EXACT instructions to set up, or if they have solution to the problem e.g. is the a firmware upgrade for HBH-30?
(HBH-30 previously worked fine with T68i |

Save the voice tags in ur phone when it isn't paired. |

Thanks for the idea, but doesn't seem to work. As with the T68, the sound has to be recorded through the headset for the headset to then use it. Sounds recorded on the handset are only used with the handset. |

I set up my S700i with voice tags without using my HBH30. After setting up the voice tags I press the button on my HBH30 and say the name after the beep and it works perfectly. Sounds set using the handset work through the handset (as you would expect), my HBH30 and with my HCA20 in car kit.

Yes, voice tags are save on phone not the headset itself. I record my voice tag on my P900 using the "wire" headset instead and it seems to be pick up by bluetooth headset better than recording with phone's mic.
Go here and click "tips and tricks", there's a section about recording voice tags with bluetooth.

Thanks for the ideas. I tried again last night with recording directly onto the phone and that had no effect, the headset didn't want to know.
The 'tips & tricks' link actually ties up exactly with the instructions that I used to use for my T68. Incidentally, it disagrees with those who say to record through the handset! It says you need to record through the headset. Anyway, with my S700, the instructions don't work.
I think I will try recording with the wired earpiece and see if I get any joy that way.
I'll let you know |

Further update!
Recording the tags on the handset never worked.
Recording the tags with the wired headset works with the wired headset.
If I then unplug the wired headset, and try with the HBH-30, it works first time! But then it doesn't work again no matter how often I try.
I repeated this by recording agian through the wired headset with exactly the same results.
Don't know where to go on this. I don't know whether there is a firmware upgrade on the headset available? |

I still find it strange as I have never had the same problem with my S700i. What firmware does your S700 have? Mine is using R3B which is an early version as I got mine the week it arrived in the UK. Im sorry but the only solution that I have is to get the software on your updated. |

don't waste your time there is nothing wrong with your phone, the hbh-30 has old bluetooth firmware (like mine) you can't do nothing about it. I have the same problem with my p910 and the hbh-30 when I try to voice dial it just beeps for a couple of minutes but at the end nothing happens but for incoming calls and outgoing it works fine, this is because the k700,s700,and the p910 all have a new bluetooth chipset wich is not fully compatible with older bluetooth headsets. but with all the other headsets I have (hbh-35,hbh-200,hbh-600,hbh-660) they all work normally. I have tested my hbh-30 on other new se phones and I get the same results,my opinion is to get a new headset preferably a hbh-660. the best one on the market now.

Thanks for the thoughts.
I have R2C as the firmware. I need to send the phone back as Vodafone have suggested (not sure that I believe them) that the latest firmware removes the restriction on MP3 Ringtones.
SE also suggested that I send the headset back, but they didn't say why - I may do it at the same time and try and see if they can do a firmware upgrade on the HBH-30.
These headsets cot over £100 at the time this one was bought. I don't use it a lot, but I don't want to ditch it and buy another even if they are better and cheaper now.
Oh well! |

This worked for me too. I have a HBH-300. I could not learn the phone through the hbh-300. It had to be done on the phone before connecting to hbh-300.
I got rid of the S700i because I needed more bandwith and got a Nokia 6630. The voice recognition on the Nokia sucks!
