The company that makes this is Yan Chuan Commucation was set up in early 2004. Most of the researcher are from BenQ.Their main products are X-cute mobile phones. X-cute V8 is their upcoming mobile phone with 1,670,000 colors screen and 3 megapixel camera module. It can record videos at 30 frames/sec with VGA resolution.Too bad there is no bluetooth or java support.

Here are some prototype model photos from: sogi.com

there's another phone with a huge hinge which also protrudes out one side, just like the Samsung Launches 2-Megapixel Phone with 2x Optical Zoom you posted a while back

personally I don't like the style

For some reason the koreans like to stick megapixel camera's in the hinges hence the huge size, but in this case i think they might have overdone it a bit...However i have to agree with you that it does ruin the styling of the phone. [addsig]

it looks like one of those new fancy sony digicams when closed and the keypad is so like the design of samsung keypads, i dont mind the looks as long as it has the specs.

No BT and IR ! Before using my k700, i wouldnt have bothered with these features but now i feel they are an absolute must

My wifes mini digital video camera produces vga vid and when converted to svcd produces some sweet video that plays on our tv very nicely, now that in a phone is very sweet !

At first glance i thought it was ugly, but, actually, its a good place to put a camera! A bit of refinement, smaller hinge (which will only be possible as camera miniturisation improves) and it could be very nice indeed.
