The F-Secure weblog is reporting a "new" worm that uses Bluetooth to transmit from phone to phone. Like Cabir, the Lasco.A worm only affects phones with both the Symbian Series 60 operating system and Bluetooth. According to the F-Secure write up, Lasco.A is based off the Cabir.H source code, but is different in that it inserts itself into any SIS files found on the phone. So it can spread itself through both infected SIS files and over Bluetooth. According to F-Secure, you can protect your phone by putting it in non-discoverable.
