As far as I know s can only be unlocked using a data cable and a credit from one of these online phone flashing websites. Either that or it can be done from your local market stall - I've had a couple of T610s unlocked from someone on a market stall with what looked like a firmware-modified Nokia 3410/cable combination! I wouldn't mind getting hold of one of those....

what did this cable look like exactly? sounds weird to me.

Because the platform sends bogus messages while charging, that is why!!!..But why this change of heart?..We sense a charger connected, oops, we will not shut down after all!!!..*********************** UI BASIC, HOLD YOUR HORSES

All the cable was was a short one that connected to the 3410 and with a connector for phones on the other end.

No - it goes Nokia 3410 - cable - Sony Ericsson, no computer involved!

i av heard this as well an seen something about it... all it involves is a re-flash of the phones FW and it produces unlock codes for nokias and unlocks other fones using a cable...

Sounds pretty good if u wanna stay mobile and be able to unlock phones on the move.

I did have a Nokia 3310 that could unlock other Nokias, but not SEs. It was also unstable as it obviously was an 'unofficial' firmware, but it did still make calls as well as unlock phones! I want one that can unlock SEs like this 3410 I saw though.

@original poster - sorry, we seem to have threadjacked a little bit here, my apologies!

@sammy_boy

this is more intersting though. its funny i never heard of this before. i think it must work like an "unlock clip" and have SE alogrithm, but im not sure. sure would like to get my hands on the nk firmware and have a play decompliling it.

There is an ebay seller here who claims to have software that can unlock phones including Sony Ericssons without the use of cables or anything, but I'm sceptical about any code generator working with an phone.

There are also quite a few Java Nokias (7210, 6610, 7250i) on Ebay with some kind of unlocking programme on them, not sure if they have had their firmware mucked about with or whether it's a Java app (it's apparently in the 'applications' menu on the phone) for unlocking Nokia, LG, and Samsung phones.

No, i have never heard of a code calculator for SE. I think codes only exist in a database etc that the networks have access to. Maybe voda_jon can shed some light. But i certainly have never heard of an SE code generator, and if it exists i hope i would know about it. Yes Nokia codes and some other manufacturers can be easily calculatd with free generators.

yeh we have the database of codes for all Live! enabled SE phones... i also have the DCT4 and DCT3 unlock calculator which if u pm me i can email u the two i use a lot!... lol.

none of the guys i work with or the department who r responsible for unlock codes know of an SE code generator... The workings of these r kept somewhere underground where a huge series of traps and wild animals wait for an unsuspecting thief to stumble on an alarm... lol or it might b held on a really hard to hack server somewhere at SE.

Hope this helps.
