Problem with SonyEricsson heaset earloop |

I've done my searching on these forums as well as on the internet and can't seem to find anyone else who has this issue. My problem is that the little rubber ring between the headset body (I own an HBH-60) and the earloop has worn out and the earloop keeps popping off when I try to put the headset on my ear. I've called SE and they don't sell just the rubber inserts... does anyone know where I can get a hold of one? I'm a regular user of the headset and am usually very careful with my gadgets but that rubber insert seems to me as something that can easily wear out... do other similarly shaped SE headsets (HBH-600, HBH-660) use the same little insert? |

Do you pull it off and on the post constantly? Don't do that. It shouldn't wear out.
Except for color/materials, the 60/65/600 (and maybe the 660? Not sure) have the same earloop and the same little rubber thing. Not sure how you would replace it, but you could jerry rig something... How did you wear out the earloop??

I didn't really pop the earloop off all that much... I did switch it back and forth between left and right ear (rotate the earloop around) which I guess does rub on the insert. I guess the next headset I get I'll try to use on one ear only . |

I switch between ears all the time--at least a couple times a day. I do it by flipping the ear piece around on its pivot though, not by pulling it off the post... |

That's what I meant in my reply before as well... I don't pull it off the post but simply rotate it around. How long have you had your headset? Mine started to become unusable after about 9-10 months of use. |

Does ANY1 know if the replacement ear loop for the HBH-65, works with the HBH-600 OR where I can source a HBH-600 replacement earloop?
I lost my HBH-600 earloop yesterday

@KurtWL64 Wow, your response just gave me an idea for much better google search criteria and so I found a place that sells replacement earloops. Didn't check any reviews on this online store or anything so that is up to you but at least it is a start... May want to ask them if the earloop also comes with the little rubber plug as well (more than likely it does).

Yes, the earloops are the same, except for color (which will clash). Didn't I say that three posts up? |

I feel the earloop connection to the HBH-65 is the dumbest design flaw on any Sony product I've ever experienced. I pulled out my HBH-65 one day and to my horror I found that the earloop was missing. I searched high and low for it, but didn't find it. Contrary to all the perfectionists out there, I didn't pull the earpiece out all the time, but actually used it normally. Like I said, this was the dumbest design I've ever seen for such an important part. I called SE and they said they didn't sell the parts. I looked all over the web for it and they didn't have anything (there's an opportunity for someone for anyone who knows how to fabricate this stupid piece). I ended up posting the unit on Ebay, minus the earloop, of course.
I was walking down the block one day, a block where a minimum of over a hundred people a day walk down and I looked down and low and behold but there was my earloop! Whoo-hoo! I now carry the HBH-65 in the supplied case so as to not lose the earloop again. I was thinking of getting a thumbtack or small screw and drilling it into the post so as to not lose it again. That's an idea for anyone that's experiencing looseness.
Anyway, now I'm looking at a HBH-300 so all this may be a moot point. |
