So the actual upgrade sounds like its not even worth it,we T68 owners expected a better upgrade than the R1C not a DEGRADE!!!

You have the options/features you had before the upgrade,..and they added a few new things.
So it can never be a "degrade".

You get better colors in the games.
On calllist you get small icons.
Better gprs-connection.
And the phone works a bit faster too

And its even free !

Yes, we all want the photoalbum, mms and so on, but we'll just have to wait
(cant use mms anyway..yet)

A TOTAL DISAPIONTMENT!!

Upgraded from R1B to R2A and I didnīt noticed any new functions, at least no good or nice functions that could be fun to use like the photoalbum and to make new themes...

Is it maybe in R2B ???

I upgraded my phone today! The software now is R2A013

I don't think this is an disapointment! For my use it helps me!

- Faster GPRS (Faster WAP)
- New design in "GAME", much beter
- Faster menus
- Faster T9 input
- Icons in front of calls in phone list and missed calls

Now I'm waiting for the big MMS update!

I totally agree with [GDI]raptor and add:
- lower microphone sensitivity
- less problems with GPRS hanging (some problems still occur, whenin a Nokia network)
- no hanging shutdown (yet) after GPRS hanging

So for me it isn't a disappointment!!!

Sounds good to me.. I have R1B that came with the phone, I'll try and upgrade it soon then. I take it it is readily available at my local Ericsson service centre in Sweden?

(I know the Ericsson site has a list of service centres so dont give me that link..)

You guys are sure that the MMS upgrade is true? I say this because I work in a mobile phone store here in Portugal and the Ericsson representative that went to the store yesterday told me that there isnīt going to be any upgrade that putīs MMS on our T68, instead they are going to release T68i with all that features! I said that that wasnīt fair and Ericsson should do as Siemens with the SL45 and SL45i! I already sent Ericsson a mail showing my disapointement! You should do the same, letīs try to change this! Maybe they will listen to us!

Hi, to me it sounds great!
I am going to a Service center tomorrow to upgrade to R2A and I look forward to it!
Of course we are all awaiting the MMS-upgrade and photoalbumfunction etc. etc. etc., but we just have to wait, there isn't much we can do.

Mastercomilao:

They Canīt do that!!!
They promised to put MMS to the phone before I bought it, it was supposed to have MMS from he beginnning but Ericsson choosed to wait and re-produce and make MMS better and faster couse no country used MMS when it was released...
So, they have promised to give me an upgrade.. If they donīt Iīll promise you to hear from me, couse Iīm going to get really angry then...

Ericsson will upgrade our T68 phones til T68i, but since it's a so "big" update they want to call it T68i so it can be more easy for pepole/press/shops

Well, at least we should have learned to not believe in those rumours when we hear them.

I'm pretty sure we'll all get mms, but I don't think we should be too optimistic about theme editor, ability to change all 10 backgrounds and so on...

I guess tic is correct. There is no garantee that we will have these nice to have features even tough we are eagerly awaiting for them.

However, if these things are included in the update I'll be a very happy man!

R2A update also puts the clock on the display during a call. The call timer used to replace the clock in the older SW versions.

I don't regret having my phone's software upgraded, I was rather sour that the photo album etc. was not included, but the phone works better in every way.
If you have R1B this update is a must. If you have the R1C this update is a good to have. If you can aquire it easily go for it!
