Possible to bring a K700 back from the dead? |

Brilliant  Just uploaded the latest firmware to my phone with totalserver (which I have successfully done before).
I flashed the firmware file fine and then the application quit halfway through installing the language file.
My phone is now dead and won't even power on. Is there any way this can be resurrected without taking it to a service centre?
I have the firmware and language files but the application I have (totalserver) requires you to turn on the phone to flash (which I can no longer do....)
Is there another application I can use that will work with the T68 service cable?

You have two options really, The first option is that your phone might be PLAYING dead, this has happened to me many times after trying to flash. What you need to do is remove the battery and see if it powers back up. If that doesnt work what you need to do is reflash it..I know what you thinkin, but how can I if the phone is not powering on...??? There is a great chance it can still allow it to reach the boot sequence which means the screen wont power on but the phone in actual fact will be able to allow you to re-flash the phone.
So follow the steps again and re-flash the phone it should work like I said dont worry to much that the power is not going on.
2nd option is if all options fail I believe you can use the gdfs file to resseruct it from the dead but for know lets just try the first option.

This exact thing happened to me, just a few days ago. Here is what worked for me: First remove the battery and replace it. Then I downloaded an older version of the Totalserver SW (v1.13) at www.legija.net. with the older version of the software I installed the FW file. When you reinstall it will run a recovery operation so your phone is not dead but merely comatose.
Without turning on the phone, I switched to the latest version (1.46) to install the language pack. Then the rest of the install went ok. It took me most of the day to figure out. I am not sure if the trick was to use the older software or to simply download the files in 2 steps, rather than load both files (the FW and the language pack) at the same time. It is important to do the entire process because I think it first uploads the file to the phone and then has to build the file system, and actually install it. Do not turn your phone on until the process is complete.
I informed TS about my problem and hopefully there will be a fix soon (they seem like pretty good people), but there is hope. Good luck. |

Hi people, ok thanks for that advice. After doing the battery trick I was able to flash the files using 1.46.
However, after they were both installed the app came up with the following message...
enabling functionalities...
you don't have enough credits - you need one more credit
Is this for real, I already paid the credit to unlock my phone and now I need another to get it back up and running???
Is there a chance this will work with an older client version?

OK, bit the bullet and bought another credit, reflashed the phone and it said successful.
However, now I power on my phone and all I get is 8 flashes on the power button and nothing on the display - what's that all about??
Should I try it again or will I have to buy yet ANOTHER credit (this is costing me a fortune!) |

Did you take any screen shots of what happened? I am hoping you didnt buy your credits from FaceOff or whatever there name is...

Wish I hadn't bothered will the whole thing - I've dropped £16 in credits on this today and I just have a phone that blinks it's power light at me 8 times when I press on - not what I had hoped for.
Anybody know what the blinking means? |
