Are the Nokia Designers confused in what to name the phones
because there is no consistency with series, except maybe the 9 series as communicators, but other than that all their phones are jumbled into different series.

Is it Just me?

well they released so many models, they're running out of numbers to assign !

the 6670 and 7610 are the same phone with a different key layout ! They atleast should be named like 7610 and 7610a or i or something . Like how SE have done with the s700 and s710

Nokia will hotly refute this, but to me it looks like they have lost their way somewhat, churning out bland, poor looking handsets with no real pizazz, and just assigning any old 4 digit code (possibly employees PIN numbers ) as the model name .

i personally had the sensation that the high the series number, the better/more stylish/more expensive it was...but over the last year or so thats gone out the window..

Yeah

I thought like the 1-3 Series should be low budget phones

However when the 3650 Came out I changed my mind and now with the 3230- 1.3 MP Camera and amazing features.

and the differences in Keyboard layout are in different series.

I think they have the first number on the designer himself

and then the last 3 numbers on preformance

But then the 3230 would be less in performance than the 3310

Im so confused

Its such an unco-ordinated looking mess. No pattern. No rhythm. Nokia - disconnected minds.

There used to be a pattern, but now it just seems they shoehorn the model numbers in. It would be good to read something on their policy regarding model numbers, ive had a dig around but cant find anything, if anyone knows of a statement or suchlike could they post a link?

i been saying this for ages!
i think not following the numbers on is just a ploy so people dont notice that one models "replacement" is actually the same phone with a new express on cover.

I think 'Nature' has something there. Nokia's ploy has definitely got us confused.

Wazuki, I believe the problem with your theory is inconsistancy that is the general trend but for each statement theres an exception, so theres no definate pattern.

@wazuki - there is a slight problem with your categorizing. Take the 6670 and 7610,both are the same with a different keypad and pdf support in the former, so how can one be business and the other fashionable ?
