Even after owning the DRS-10 serial cable, I could not resist the temptation in purchasing the DCU-10 USB data cable when it hit the store near my work place. Strangely, I paid about the same amount for each of them (DRS - S$66, DCU - S$68).

I am trying to find time and relevant software to get the latter to work with my Mac.

Connection wise, the USB cable is definitely more stable than the serial counterpart. Connection is less prone to break during transmission. As generally understood, USB transmission is faster than serial. As such, sending a 24k jpg file to my T68m now takes a shorter time (though not really noticably faster). Am trying to get an animated gif clip of my daughter to the phone - over 200k - and time the transmission from there. I believe I will get a more realistic timing in how much faster the USB cable is over the serial one.

Will keep you guys posted. |
