If you really are considering 7610 instead of k700 ... then you don't need my advice at all. :-( come on, even sparrows know the difference between k700 and 7610- 1st 1 is awesome 2nd is AWFULL, even for a nokia phone.

Let's put it simple: do you take pictures? if so, you MUST get the 7610. If you take one picture / week (first two weeks of ownership of a phone don't count here ) you MUST go for the k700i.
I am a K700i user for 4 months now, so you can trust me on this one. |

You also need to consider whether you need that extra memory, specially when you'll be using the phone as an mp3 and video player.
Also there are more applications available for the symbian OS

Well, if you can be satisfied with 41mb of memory, go for the K700. But if you need more memory, go for the 7610. Also, the 7610 is S60! For which there are innumerable apps and stuff. Also consider the keypad arrangement of the two. The K700 wins easily in this department. But overall, the 7610 feels a better option to me. But its all up to you!

@all - i think ruson already mentioned that he already HAS a k700, and is only considering buying a 7610 not a choice between the k700 and the 7610.
@rusonjitsu - And in case your housing gets damaged, 7610 has more available at cheaper cost (at least here in my place). The red 7610 housing looks really cool I say go for it !

Hey you read that I HAVE a k700i ! Yeah ive had the k700 for 5 months now, i only got it cos it was free at the time. I hated the battery life to begin with and had lots of hassle debranding my phone using totalserver in order to get decent battery life. Another thing I dont like about the k700 is the fact that it takes SO LONG to sync anything with your pc. With nokias ive had before I just connected them and OPM downloaded everything onto the pc.
@everyone, how many texts does the 7610 hold, because the k700 doesnt hold that many, strangly it varies, the most i ever had was 50, i usually get about 25 on the phone, which isnt good as i text alot.
Also does anyone know the best place to get one (7610) from?
RJ
ps: they look great in red!

it may have some features the k700 doesnt have but my god its rubbish. What have nokia done?!?!
Its SO slow! 2mins to load, and u have to wait for the phone to load.
K700 is the best, hoping S700 will be better (removable memory, bIgger screen and better camera, which is y i wanted a 7610)

Hi.
Okay I had nokia 7610 before I went to a bar and got a little wasted and lost it. But now I have sony K750i and there is some good and bad in both :/
7610
Camera: 1.3MP poor options no flash(no focus delay) no protection for camera.
OS: SymbianOS great almost like having a palmOS.
Battery: Li-Ion 900 mAh, Standbytime (h) 250, Talktime (m) 180.
Sound: Plastic sound, total crap (mono).
Screen: Very good for watching videos, and can get video player that plays xvid codec and a converter, for the best quality and leaves more space left available.
Bluetooth: Slow but easy to communicate with PC.
Software: Great, very user-friendly.
Other: Can edit almost everything and easy to get great software on the internet.
K750i
Camera: 2MP great options. bunch of options with light works as indoor flashand much more(1-2 sec focus delay) slider work as a protection.
OS: Don't like it in any way, very limited to organize the folders and some other things.
Battery: 900mAh Lithium Polymer, Standbytime (h) 400
Talktime (m) 540.
Sound: clear sound, very good (stereo).
Screen: Very good should be good for watching videos but cant get codecs to make videofiles as small as possible and for good quality like Xvid codec (so it is a great miss to have lost the 7610).
Bluetooth: Fast but hard to pair with PC(always need to confirm everytime you send something eighter way), and can be used as a remote control, but it is not possible to customize the button commands (or I think so please teach me if you know how to make the ".hid" files work on the phone).
Software: very disapointing (no editors for PC) but good editors on phone.
Other: Can edit almost nothing and hard to get any software on the internet, with FM radio(but need to have the handfree connected because it works like a antenna).
And here is a compare of:
K700i and 7610: http://www.esato.com/phones/index.php/phone=122,cp=124
K750i and 7610: http://www.esato.com/phones/index.php/phone=168,cp=124
Ok, I think this is all I have to say, sorry for comparing 7610 and "K750i" but I recommend 7610 if you don't like taking pictures and don't like music, It almost works like a palm computer.
Thanks. Happy shopping. |

Thanks for sharing you experience, there are definitely things about these gadgets that you have to experience to really understand. Sorry you had to learn that the hard way.

I have a s700 now and it is my favourite phone! true theres some things that could make it better, but its a hella lot better than the 7610 and the joystick doesnt jam up with dirt like the k700 (even when cleaned).
The k750i is nice.
