I have a cousin coming down to India from the UK soon. Can anyone tell me a place in the UK where she can just walk and buy a Samsung SGH-D500? Out here the price is approximately £268 (Rs. 22,500). Is the phone retailing for lesser?

Think you would be better off buying one from your part of the globe as the price you've stated seems extremly cheap. Cheaper than what i've seen it for here in the uk sim free. I got mine on an upgrade with o2 uk through the Carphone Warehouse which cost me 149.99 GBP. Had a 2 week wait due to low stocks as well.

I really don't want to spend more than £160-£170 on a phone. Out here, anything above £170 is usually the expensive category. I once spent £300 for the Nokia 6600, which was stolen. Since then I've decided to curtail my cellphone expenses. I picked up a pre-owned SGH-E715 for a sweet £136, but now I have my eyes set on the D500. I like the 1.3mp camera with video along with MP3 playback. One of the only feature missing in the D500 is an MMC slot, but I guess I can live with that for a few months at least...

Maybe I'll just pick it up in January.
