The $1.6 billion dollar deal will ship out to 12 major mobile carriers including Verizon Wireless and Sprint PCS. The handsets to be imported will range from a $130 basic candy-bar style to a $300 fully-featured multimedia handset with megapixel imaging and EV-DO network technology. Curitel expects to take more than 15% of the North American CDMA market share under the Pantech brand by the end of 2006.
