Hi Guys,

I am looking to buy a BT headset and I have a few questions.

Does the caller id work with the T630?
Can I use the HBH-660 on my PC with voip programs like Skype?

Thanks for all your help.

You can use the 660 with Skype, provided your dongle supports headset or handsfree profiles. I can't confirm that the caller ID works with the T630, but I see no reason it shouldn't.

Grimslade,

Thank you for your help. The members here are an invaluable sourse of information.

I have a class 1 Billionton Bluetooth Dongle that does support Headset profile so I should be OK for Skype.

I read somewhere (SE Web Site, I think) that not all SE phones support the caller id function on the HBH-660. It wouldn't make sense to pay extra for the HBH-660 if the caller display was not supported by my T630. I could save money by buying the HBH-602 or the BlueTrek G2. Guess I will just have to test it before I buy.

Thanks again!

When they say "not all phones," they mean mostly non-SE phones and the smart phones, which don't support the handsfree profile, but only the older headset profile. non-symbian phones should work; test before you buy, but the T630 doesn't fit into any of the problem categories.

And welcome to Esato! Glad you find it helpful.

All phones will show you the number on the HBH660, while on the other hand not all phones will give you the name on the screen if you have it stored on the phone. That is what they mean, not fully compatible, but all phones will give number caller ID.
