I've got an Orange branded phone. I wanted to update it on the SE website in the hope it might get rid of the orange rubbish!

Ive been to the update page and it gets to the bit which says "Checking the installation of Sony Ericsson Update Service" and then does nothing.... anyone know if this is normal? or how on earth I can get rid of all this orange crap!

The SE website will only update your firmware to the latest branded version. If you wish to get it debranded I *think* totalmultiserver does it but dont quote me on that.

Try total multi server. With the SE's update webpage you will get nothing more than the newest version of Orange f/w.
