I brought a new USB data cable from a local shop, and installed the software (Something like Serial USB Adaptor), Inserted the data cable into the USB Port of my PC, PC Detected the USB Device and installed it, but still it cannot detect the phone connected. Also, when browsed to accessories, the phone says no accessories connected to the phone. Also, starts recharging the battery of the phone soon as i connect the cable to my phone

Please advise

Use K700 DateiManager, its more reliable than the s/w that comes along with the phone -

http://k700.hitziger.net

or for more advanced features, download FMA -

http://fma.sourceforge.net

@usb_k700i - I wish you just bought a Bluetooth Dongle instead mate, much easier to use than the data cable ! Good Luck though . . .

Dateimanager is sometimes unreliable too. Try disconnecting the phone, close the utility and connect the phone again and run the utility again. Also try switching off and on the phone.

Considering the trouble I have with the BT, it might not be the ideal solution. XP SP2 is cruel!

Try checking what com port the SEMC DSS SyncStation is actually assigned to and make sure DateiManager is set to the correct port. It sometimes puts in a wrong COM port by default.

Sorry matey, as I NEVER totally relied on Data Cables - ever since. When the Blue Tooth was not yet featured in the mobile fones, I use Infra Red.
