Phones for mums |

On a similar theme to 'phones for girls'... I need to get my mum a new mobile. Something for when she's in the car or on holiday (she needs to be contactable in an emergency). She's not, it has to be said, the most technically advanced of people. I need to get her something REALLY easy to use. Apart from making/receiving calls she needs to be able to access SMS easily. That's all she needs. Suggestions?

Nokias are fairly straightforward to use, I would recomend the 6230. It is relatively simply to use and has a good range of features.

"relatively simple"? It has to be mum-proof! Have you a target price on PAYG? Thanks.

yea a 2100/1100 or even older phones like the 3410 would be fine. However if she wants a colour screen maybe the T230 or 3510i. If a camera is also necessary then I would say the T610 or 7250i.

She doesn't need colour and certainly no camera. The fewer the features, the less confused she's likely to get.

A T68i might not be a bad idea, they are 'relatively simple' to use.
Perhaps an older model of handset would be best; retrofone has a selection of older mobiles for sale.

There is a PS2 shortage in the UK. My mum couldn't work one of those, either.

Having had severe trouble explaining to my own mum what the icons on the desktop of my phone were, i think a 'scroll down' text menu might be better....

Thanks, M. My mum has no interest in technology. I need something *really* simple.

I've got my Mum and Dad both a K500 each this year. They both currently use Nokia 3410's. Took me ages to explain how to use the Nokias to them so I'm dreading it when they start to use these. They both want something that had a camera and colour screen on and my mum wanted to have mp3's as ringtones even though she does'nt have a clue what they are. She heard my P900 and S700 and had decided she wants one. Shame I've now moved to a Moto V3 and Samsung D500.
I tried sniffing coke once but didnt like it. The bubbles kept going up my nose |
