Hi, I am one of these poor sods who cannot get rid of the Bl**dy awfull noise this camera makes, people look at me in 'deepest sympathy'(ammusement) assuming my trendy phone has broken/fallen apart. OK is there any way you boffs have found to atleast change the sound for some thing else. I have a friend with a Blokia 7650..at least his makes a real camera sound!!..Thanks SE. as far as i know, there isnt a way to get rid of it, yet.... but i could be wrong.

yes there is a way now, you need to find someone with "cruiser" service kit.
Because the platform sends bogus messages while charging, that is why!!!..But why this change of heart?..We sense a charger connected, oops, we will not shut down after all!!!..*********************** UI BASIC, HOLD YOUR HORSES

with the newest firmware version all you have to do is put it into silent mode that silences the sound what firmware do you have |

Is your phone branded. The latest firmware is some countries disabler camera sound when in silent mode.
