I love it, but then I was always a WoW fanboy to begin with.
I'm an avid player of MMO games (massively multiplayer online.. pay per month) and WoW really is the cream of the crop. Its so intuitively easy but richly contented too.
Graphics are stunning, and load times, well on a gig of ram its was stunningly fast, on half a gig of ram, its not so stunningly fast, but theres no reduction of in game speed with lesser amounts of ram.
Within a minute or so of clicking the desktop item you'll be completley into the game.
The world itself is stunning, all the graphics are very nice indeed, i'm only playing on a Ti4200 with no AA. Some will think it looks a little cartoony which can't be helped I guess. The biggest advantage it has is that unlike other MMO's you don't need to group to level, you can mission yoru way up the ladder wiht alittle farming.
Static mobs respawn quickly in regard to quests, theres no such thing as kill stealing, most everything that annoys me about other games are solved in WoW.
The downside? Its addictive as hell. I've had a few 3am+ mornings from leveling. I'd also have liked to see more options for defining the look of your character at character generation, City of Heroes has spoiled me forever on this. (You could tweak everything there)
There is ALOT to discover and explore, you can become lost in exactly how much there is in the game. I have seen reports that the horde side of the game isn't finished either, I play alliance so its not a worry here.
If you're a fan of MMO games then honestly wow is very nice. If you're a fan of warcraft AND mmos then its really really nice ;D
If you're just a fan of the RTS games (WC1, 2, 3, frozen throne etc) then World of Warcraft may hold a slight interest but I wouldn't reccomend it unless it grabs your attention. The game doesn't play like a strategy game whatsoever so any similarities in playing style end.
Like all MMO's its pay per play, for a 6 month sub its 12.95 us per month, I think 14 or 15 per month, I forget. (I tend to buy 6 month blocks on all games I play) The box includes a month free.
I'll try and post some shots from my machine soon tonight. (Though I'll most likely get caught up in playing.. Again. |

What other MMORPGs have you played? I have just bought Star Wars Galaxies and I think I'll be satisfied with it
I'm thinking of playing both WOW and SWG though but only one at the time. Can't afford to pay for two games a month..
