Samsung Electronics and Sony forged a strong alliance today. Is the begining of SONYSAMSUNG mobiles?...Nothing in the press release of merging the two,but shareing patents could mean stealing each other ideas awell as design portfolios.
The two companies announced the conclusion of the cross-license agreement on Tuesday, giving the both parties accesses to the patents belong to each other. The announcement came as a result of the negotiation that the two sides held in December 2003 and the main term of the agreement is the cross use of the patent portfolio on a range of key products of the two companies and their affiliates.
It will be interesting to see what comes out of this!

its more of a merger to save R&D costs, promote the MS(D) and other of sony's stuff, also like atrac3.
it won't have effect on SE
With Ericsson and Nokia gone: we must keep their spirits alive and buy JOLLA or YOTA |

there is no need to destroy Nokia.I hope so.Don't forget that there aren't many serious players in the mobile phone business. One major player less means less phones for us and less competition, which is not good.
