I am gonna upgrade my fiance's phone for Christmas and I'm gonna get her inline with me and get her onto and SE phone. I am looking at the K700i or the S700i.

As experienced SE users, do any onf you have any recommendations as to which unit I should choose? I like the look of the S700i more than the other one, but any other input or suggestions would be cool!

Thanks!

As an experienced user ( - ive never been complemented in my life, thankyou so much frontman! )

i would recommend that you do not spend to much on your gf.

BECAUSE

I have had experience of many girls and i can tell you, sisters, mums, gf, friends all alike are not that bothered about certain features in a phone, and treat them like cheap make up. shoved in their bag, alongside sunglasses, makeup, money jingling about. They like ones with a camera to capture moments, a nice keypad that won't be too fiddly for their fake nails, and it needs to be either small or a flip phone.

My recommendation would not be the S700i, far too advanced. If you want you can go the for the K700i, however you may be wincing weeks after as you see your gf treating it with not as much respect as us weirdo supporters . So, either the K500i (only 100 pounds on orange from amazon!) or if you want a classy camera flip phone, the Sony Ericsson Z600 is only £99.95 on o2 in the british o2 stores.

Best of luck!

And trust me mate

regards

EDIT: Before bianca and vlammetje tell me off about stereotyping girls, not all treat them with little respect, however, the s700i design is quite radical (and its not very practical for a quick text message outside a nightclub). YOu have to think about what your girl does - does she go partying alot? Or have nice romantic candlelit dinners. If she parties frequently, you would stab yourself for buying an expensive phone like the K700i or S700i and it being lost or broken. But if she likes romantic dinners, she may like the K700i and all its features, or even just the Z600 - because it has style.

Indeed...... best to listen to the experience of a 15 y/o boy when it comes to the preferences of women

I too am a girl and I would much prefer the S700 over the K700. But I'll give you some food for thought here (free advice ): not every girl is the same

Now we can only assume that out of all terribly experienced users gathered here on this site, you must be the absolute authority on what it is that your specific girl likes. After all we must assume you know her far better than we do.

So really........ don;t ask what we want, as you'll end up with 50000+ different opinions, ask yourself what SHE wants. Or else drop some subtle hints on what she might like. She;s the one that's gonna be using it so her opinion is the only one that really matters.

He said GIRL, not woman. Girl conjures up images of Britney Spears. Woman, conjures up images of Catherine Zeta Jones.

For you Vlamm, the s700i is perfect, because you don't seem like a heavy partygoer and more of a italian resteraunt style girl, which is great, i love pasta.

But for a heavy partyer, then i would not recommend an s700i. I mean, having to text your mate outside a nightclub in town would be very impractical!

But as i say, i dont know you vlamm, and must agree every person is unique

I know, why not ask her? Or just say things like, this is a nice phone, what do you think (dropping little hints) when you pass a phone shop!

BTW vlamm, you forget, i know E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G........... [addsig]

I said "80% of girls like clamshells" not "80% of people who like clamshells are girls". You need to get your logic straight [addsig]

Lol... well thanks everyone!

I love the whole girl/boy argument!

Aaaanyway, the plus is that the upgrade should cost very very little if anything at all cos I spend so much on my phone, we have two on the same account you see. So, price not being an issue, I just wondered what people thought were good suggestions.

I can see the good ina K700i, nice sleek, small, pretty and solid design. But the S700i is the phone that as a guy I can appreciate. So question really is, do we go basic and pretty in the K700 or modern and different with the S700?

I know its pretty much the same question... but lets do this. Everyone reply with no other words other than the phone you are voting for.

A little bit of background for you. She is 27, we are engaged and have been together 9 years (so I know what she likes and I know she'll like both). Shes a calm, collected and intelligent girl but does enjoy partying but in a more refined sorta way, shes not a club hanger on or someone that pukes every time she has a drink, you would take her to restaurants or music clubs rather than rave halls! Shes elegant and pretty and currently uses the Samsung S400 (I think thats its number). And its time for a change!

So is it K700i or S700i? Cast your votes now!
