I august when i was upgrading at the end of my 12months, i just called up and said that i was wanting to upgrade to a free k700i. The guy put me on hold for a moment, came back and said thats ok, no problem. I was on the 20quid off peak tariff. I got my phone for free.

Generally i try to keep it under 25quid with a few day time calls and some mms. But for 5 months it was 20quid cause i wasnt using it as i was out of the country.

I've just renewed my O2 contract today, on O2 100 (normally £25, but for the next year they've knocked £5 a month off, which was a good incentive for me to stay). But they also wanted to charge me £100 for a 6230, £250 for an S700 - and unbelievably £130 for the ageing (and I believe discontinued now) V600!

In the end I settled for a Samsung E330 for £9.99, which looks nice but I haven't heard much about or seen much of. Can't even find that model on Samsung's website - anyone know much about it? It's connectivity sucks from what I can see, otherwise a nice phone.... but I'm getting off topic here!

It seems that the networks are very keen to gain new customers, but don't seem that bothered about keeping them - although to be fair I have had a fiver knocked off my monthly bills!
