Hi there, ive searched through posts so far but havnt been able to find the answer to my question(s)
I am getting a k700i on wednesday so i though it would be good to get a few bits of information about tricks/tweaks with it
Ive read on the forum about people making new folders with thier K700i. Please could you advise me the best way to do this.
Is there a way to remove the camera noise when taking pictures with the k700i?
Can you store and switch between multiple themes on the k700i?
Hope you can help.
Cheers

you create folders using the built in file manager of the K700
as mentioned may times, there is no way to remove the camera noise. well actually there is one way and that is to be in a call when you take the picture but thats not very practical
you can store as many themes as you hav ememory for and you can switch between them using the themes menu. I haven't seen any automated theme switching software like you might find automated wallpaper switching software for windows

@mass - Most of us can shut off the camera shutter sound. i can shut it off.
@splodge - Depending on which country's firmware your using, you may be able to shut off the camera sound. You can mute all sounds in setup menu or simply use Silent profile.

You must have the rubbish firmware then
In the later firmware i think that either you can, or can't but i am pretty sure that sony ericsson stopped you turning it off in the latest firmware.
a new one is due for release soon, should hopefully disable the silly noise, i hate it!

You cannot update the firmware using a bluetooth dongle. You need a DSS-20 or DSS-25 (these are accessories which come along with the p series phones) . then u can use the SE online update service to download the firmware files and update it.
I updated mine at the SE service center.

i couldn't remember whether the latest firmware had disabled turning it off or enabled it...but you have clarified that for me, cheers!

| I am using R2A and I can also turn off the camera sound. Just put the phone on silence mod, and the camera will be silent It's as easy as that. Strange that no esato genius thought about this before ... |

That is strange, cause thats the first thing i did. Hold in c key to mute tones and no shutter sound. K700 rocks;-)

I also find it strange why people had this kind of problem with the shutter sound -- does this have anything to do with the region where the units were released? Me and my brother have the same phones K700i and he updated his firmware to R2L and I decided not to update mine and we both can turn off the shutter sound by putting our phones in silent mode.
resistance is futile. |

@blackspot - Some countries dont encourage perv photos so i think the their firmware does not support switching off the cam shutter sound.
How you can still live with R2A i cannot imagine ! Your bro has more sense
