Sorry to start another of these threads can't find the answers I am looking for...

Is it possible to officially get the 68m->68i upgrade for the phone on the Orange network (has anybody done this)

If yes, is this the standard upgrade of have Orange got a 'special' version. If no, any news whether one is to become available.

Anybody know where I can get the upgrade done in the Basingstoke or Swindon area?

Thanks,

Hi,

I have had my "Orange" T68 upgraded and it works fine, no special upgrade needed, send a email or phone sonyericsson and they will tell you your nearest authorised repair & service centre who should do it free of charge for you same day. Its well worth the upgrade

My mate tried to get his T68m on Orange upgraded to the new s/w - and was told that Orange have stopped their users upgrading because they have not released the T68i on their networks yet!!!

bummer eh??

Those guys that had it done before 22nd June would be ok.. but they stopped it after this date.

Well I emailed SE to find out where to get the upgrade, guess I shouldn't have mentioned orange - still I suppose Orange'll get round to OKing it one day...(see below)

Incidently, anyone know if the upgrade can be performed without the SIM card in the phone? Since the phone has no 'Orange' logo markings on it how would they know..........

From past experiance I would'nt ask Orange anything to technical (wish you could actually get through to someone who knew what they were talking about instead of a operator), having said that my Bro got his T68 replaced today by orange (the blue end off the joystick fell off) and he took it straight to the local repair upgrade centre and no problems they did the upgrade, and they even ask you to put your service provider in the paper work you fill in, and as far as SE go dont ask them too much either I sent them a email 2 days after the upgrade was made available and they told me it was still in testing stages!!!!!

Sorry forgot to mention, they ask you to remove your sim card before the upgrade is done so take it out before you send it/ take it to the repair centre and funny enough the origional T68 I got did have a Orange logo on it but the replacement didn't? and neither did my bro's
