Hi all,

Check out this news link from Reuters..

http://www.reuters.co.uk/news_article.jhtml?type=technologynews&StoryID=1150826

The stock has shot up 15% after this rumor came out! I personally don't think it will be sold... but on the contrary it might buy a few smaller telecom companies that will increase synergies.

OMG, I hope that Ericsson really survives on its own. It would be terrible for Sweden if Ericsson is sold to a foreign investment bank or something, they will only further sell to others the good and profitable pieces of the company and then screw the rest..

I will never be able to sell my Ericsson stocks.. aaaaaah...

That is the secret I couldn't tell a few weeks ago.
Ericsson will be gone after 1 or two years.

@The Crow: Yeah, but that's rumours. I have heard from a high ranking Ericsson official in China one year ago that there were this kind of negotiations going on already then. But come on, you can say that it's a secret unless you know for sure that Ericsson will be sold in one year's time!

Well apparently not! Ericsson wont be sold because two of the shareholders control more than 80% of the voting rights even though they own only 7% of the shares. This is because they own Class A of the Ericsson shares while majority of the other holders own Class B shares. Class A shares carry 1 vote each while Class B shares carry 1 vote for every 1000 shares owned! So these two guys who own 80% of voting rights put out a comment to the market yesterday that they have no intention to dispose of Ericsson in the next few years! So that puts paid to all speculation.
