Digit magazine (www.thinkdigit.com) awards SE k700i as India's best cell phone.

"The k700i comes in a beautifully crafted body accentuated by the anodised silver finish. The translucent keypad, though cramped, gels perfectly with the body. The k700i from Sony Ericsson is unarguably the most feature-rich phone in its category; name the feature and its got it.

With features cramped into it's small body, the k700i wins over its closest competitors on the features it offers. The k700i comes with a brilliant 65k colour screen. The menu interface is sleek, and the browsing action is crisp without significant lag or jerks. The inbuilt camera is good for casual shots and returns above par picture quality. The mp3 player, though lacking in fidelity, comes in handy when on the move. Bluetooth makes transferring files and syncing your data a piece of cake."

Those chaps don't even know how much memory the K700 has! I dunno about this month, but in last months issue they had written in their cellphone guide that the K700 has only 32mb of memory.

Doesnt really have any bugs after the various firmware updates. Btw the runner up was 6600 which inspite of being a smartphone has a well known stability problem+very slow so obviously it couldnt bag the position. About the digit guys...they know shit...just read their last month's issue bout cell phone and be amazed at the no. of mistakes in phone specs+categorising.

Digit is suppose to be best tech magazine in india . Well whatever specs they write is given from the official sony ericsson member and in Mumbai the sony ericsson office and the merchandise are not so good . Sony ericsso has not yet been settled like nokia in india . There are not plans made by se like nokia does for india. Whichever phone is released in asia it comes to india but india is yet not the key market like for nokia china and india are the main market. Give time 2 SE 2 setup in India

yes, digit gets its specs from various sources which may be quite unreliable byt the reviews they write are from personal experience and usage of the phone(or any other device for that matter) so that is quite accurate

blu,
no mobile phone mags here yet. the reason i think is there aren't enough mobile phone applications developers and there aren't any mobile manufacturing units here yet. (nokia/lg and motorola are planning to though).

and... most of the mobiles here are lower end, and the innovation is happening at the upper end only.
it's not a bad idea though. u in the media business?
