@cyberkid - watch out for test reports - if you have a bad ccd chip in the cam you get less quality with 5MPix than with a good 3MPix cam..

also if ur simply printing out the photos on a photo printer or using them for ur computer 3mp is fine in the end of the day a 5mp camera is such a hig resoloution, i mean i work with images that go to lytho print and these dont need to be anywhere near 5mp quality

if the sensor is able to deal with 5mp itīs of course a huge improvement in resolution compared to 3mp. But the sensor has to.
I donīt know the difference between those two but I guess you should spend a few chips to buy a recent test magazine - thereīll you get an assured answer.

And donīt forget the other features: battery power, integrated battery, releaser delay, readiness quickness (or how you say it) and even convenient handling.

itīs the time between pressing the trigger or releaser or release button (I donīt know the exactly terminus technicus) and the cam finally making a pic. There are cams that need more than a second for focussing and taking he picture - but then often the partyīs already over..

I guess there are a lot of test reports in the net - check the usual suspects like pc or phone magazine sites as well as some shopping guide sites..

He means shutter delay. i was watching a thing on the telly, and apparently two of the quickest are the Fujifilm finepix and the sony cybershot.

thx @meths for clarification. My translation machine gets confused from time to time, especially with technical expressions
(I love those like 'single bevel butt weld with root face at inclined T-joint welded with two fillets') - but Iīm threadjacking again. back to topic.
