Hey

I was just wondering, do you think animated standby images and menus will noticably decrease the battery time compare to regular images? (In this case, a V800)

I mean it must consume more cpu power, but when the screen goes dark and the clock appear, it doesnt process the animated image anymore or?

It takes a bit more power as usually, but it depends on the anim itself aswell.

switching the screen off or to the clock doesnīt prevent phone from working - if there isnīt a program routine that stop the image I guess it will continue to drain battery..

@ilslley - Welcome aboard the Esato plane mate! Surely the battery will drain 'gradually'. Better have the settings in the clock mode, or the one that shows the time, or better yet - leave it just 'blank' , like that of the K700i model - powersave mode, if the V800 has that feature too. Good Luck!

Yes the animated standby images drain more battery compared to still images because it requires more CPU processing but the difference is not very significant IMO. It doesn't stay that long anyway so the overall difference won't be noticeable.
resistance is futile.

In my phone i found that when the lights go off, the animation stops. When we touch any of the keys, and the lights come up, the animation restarts.

that's strange, in mine it doesn't stop animating even if the light is already off. could it be the R2A firmware?

Hmm..interesting...

IF the animation stops when the lights go out...everything is fine..
Thats is what we want, a cool animation when usnig the phone, and an animation not moving (saving cpu) when were not using the phone..

@IIIsley: Very much. We dont sit around viewing animated screensavers all day; do we? Personally, I just switched off the screensaver and activated power save. Believe me, it does conserve battery power significantly.
