Yeah, I agree. I think that P800 indeed will be the perfect GPRS phone! There will be no competition until the 3G phones come along!

Sendo Z100 Smartphone
At approx. 100 grams and 99 cc, the Sendo Z100 Multimedia Smartphone will be one of the smallest and lightest GPRS tri-band smartphones. It will feature an impressive TFT display with up to 65,000 colours, comparable in quality to a high-end laptop display. The Z100 Smartphone will be able to play MP3 and Windows Media Audio and Video files and will include USB, IRDA and RS232 connectivity.

In addition, the Z100 Smartphone will have an integrated HTML, c-HTML and WAP browser. The Z100 Smartphone will be one of the first colour smartphones that gives users access to e-mail, contacts and meaningful Internet content on the go. E-mail and contacts can be synchronized over the air, using IR or when directly connected to a PC running compatible software. It will incorporate the new Microsoft ® Windows ® Powered Smartphone 2002 software.

Naturally, other features like voice dial and voice memo and a wide range of accessories, like a digital clip-on camera (VGA resolution), will be offered. The pictures taken with the camera may be immediately sent to someone in the form of a JPEG file or an MMS message. GPS Navigation software combined with an in-car accessory will also be offered.

Sendo will add a number of features, in option packs, to those that come standard with Smartphone 2002, which may include, for example, a Java Virtual Machine, an advanced EMS/MMS messaging client, file viewers for popular document formats, and SyncML. A number of video and audio players will be available for the device. Sendo has previously announced that it is working with several video player companies.

The Z100 Smartphone will offer memory expansion capability with hot-pluggable MMC (Multimedia card) and SD (Secure Digital) cards. The memory slot is a key enabler to allow the downloading of information between the phone and other devices.

Sendo has announced Bluetooth support for the Z100 Smartphone, which will be enabled by a plug-in module into the memory slot. The SDIO (Secure Digital Input/Output) card is a small expansion card, which allows wireless connectivity to a Bluetooth headset or Bluetooth enabled devices.

Sendo has also announced its first wave of applications being developed by third party developers for the Z100 Smartphone. Among the applications currently under development, are applications for entertainment, such as well-known games, including Versaly’s ‘The Untouchables Pin Ball’ and various titles from Germany based Mobile Scope and Midway’s smash hit arcade classed ‘Defender™’, to business applications, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel viewers

Each one of these phones has some nice features which the other one doesn't have (the Sendo phone doesn't JUST have an MP3 player). Ultimately it is probably best to wait and see how well they actually perform their functions (i.e. speed of OS, does it crash all the time) and decide which one is the best for you.

I agree that the Sendo phone is not going to win a beauty contest, but on the other hand I think the P800 is just a little bit too big to be used as an everyday phone. It all depends each person's requirements.

I think the lack of camera possibilities with the sendo is a huge drawback. This is actually also applicable to the new color Nokias! I mean, why buy a 7210 or 6510 with MMS capabilities when you can't send images? Of course, I think that Nokia will offer snap-on cameras after a while, but you can't be completely sure. About the Sendo, I will discuss it when it is in the stores, it has been delayed too many times for of to think it will ever come out.

sony-ericsson P800 wins!
actually.... why put up this comparison anyway? the sendo is way far behind. sendo has to topple off a lot of other competition, before he can even reach the nokia status. or even of the siemens status. what more if sendo daydreams of becoming another sony-ericsson? ...well, dream on, sendo....!

After reading all these posts, I think I'm going to hold on to my T68i as my primary phone for a little while after the P800 and Sendo is released.

Bad news on the Sendo 100, it is officially delayed due to compatibility problems (ie the microsoft software aint working properly with everything else...)
And... apparantly the Sendo roadmap says tyhat in about 6 months there will be another handset (smaller) with more features... so I'd probably not bother with this first effort.
