Gearlive reports about a Bluetooth or wifi Shielding Paint for the paranoid among us.
Masseur this one might be worth considering since you just got a new wireless network installed!

"WiFi is hackable, plain and simple. At the very least, someone near your network can steal the bandwidth and use it for all types of illegal internet activity. One partial solution is DefendAir interior paint from ForceField Wireless. When you apply this on a wall, it can dampen the amount of WiFi, WiMax, or Bluetooth frequencies escaping into outside rooms, homes, or pesky spies parked outside in a black van." |

Cinemas here are aparently looking at Cellular blocking materials so that movie watchers don't have to put up with someone getting calls in a movie. Seems like this is along the same lines so all good.

nah, I'm fairly secure. wifi is not all that insecure when you are knowlegable
I use mac address limitations and WEP keys. to break into a wireless network you generally need to be able to clone a mac address that is defined on the wireless router AND know the WEP key.
There are programs that can captures data packets and figure out the WEP key but on average they require 5 to 10 million data packets which on a home site usually requires at least 2 weeks of data capture. I change my WEP keys at least every week
whereas WEP is a fixed static key, WPA is a dynamic key which can still be broken but takes alot more data packets to break and which has usually changed before the key is figured out except in high volume coporate situations.
I could use WPA but I am still understanding its implications before employing it
one things I won't be doing though is painting my walls with this stuff!

gizmodo has an article about a company called naturalnano who have developed a mobile phone signal blocking paint.
NaturalNano has used nanotechnology to develop a type of paint that stops cellphone signals. It’s done by blending particles of copper that are inserted into nanotubes, and then mixing and suspending these tiny particles into a can of paint.
