Yeah, they're a band from Wellington NZ, they can be quite loud and they're great, but they've just changed their name because Shihad sounded too much like Jihad and they're trying to get in to the States and didn't think it would go down too well. www.shihad.com |

Big time! Saw Shihad live here in London, it had to be the best concert I've been too. It went off |

@Fingers. So how long have you been in the UK. I am in Wellington and getting ready to come over for a holiday (and of course look at all the new toys which seem to hit the UK a hell of a lot faster than Wellington).

Been out of NZ since Oct 98, spent six months in Canada skiing, Worked at Whistler, then arrived here in March 99. Been contracting around the place and have finally had enough, it's time to come home, leaving at the end of August to head back to Christchurch and settle back in to the great Kiwi lifestyle I've missed so much. The UK's quite a good place to live for a while, but it's not home. There are lots of goodies to buy here but it's a lot easier when you're earning pounds, the dollar doesn't go far here. |

Hey Mike, what's Vodafone like there, I've checked out their website and prices don't look too bad, and coverage seemed ok when I was back a couple of years ago for Christmas, needed sun. But generally are they alright? |

Hi Fingers... Vodafone are significantly better than they used to be back in the old Bell South days. Coverage is really good especially in the main centres and towns and along the main highways and its getting better. They are spending money on coverage and their infrastructure and I think its showing promise. There help desk service is very good also. So I am well pleased with them.
I know what you mean, there's no place like home. Although Christchurch has been having some really cold weather over the last few weeks and Auckland as not had much better. Wellington appears to be in the middle of a fine weather bubble and its still quite warm - like 14C at 6:00am yesterday the first of July!!!
Remember bring back all the toys you need - cause it takes for ever to get the good stuff out here. The P800 will probably be at least another year away and the T68i has only recently been released here however software upgrades are up to date.
Cheers Mike

Thanks for that Mike, sounds good then. I remember Bell South, lucky they started it all off really or else we would never be able to have to cool phones like the T68 and P800. I hope the P800 will be out before I leave here, would be nice to bring one back. Yeah I see that there's been a bit of snow down south, hope there's still plenty around when I get back in late Aug, can't wait to hit the slopes it's been ages. I really like Wellington, a friend of mine used to run a pub up there so I used to go up at least once a month, handy that I worked for Air NZ, $60 return. Would consider moving there if I had to. |
