What operating system?
Did the mp3 come with software?

Give us some more details, and if possible, a link to the mp3's web page.

Alright, where did you buy it from? I would suggest un-installing the '98 driver, then trying again. If you have already tried that, go:
Start > Control Panel > Portable Media Devices
and see what you can do from there.

my sister got it of her friend who gt it frm some shop??? i uninstalled the driver and installed it again, nuffin seems to happen, probably because it's windows xp. I went to that portable devices thing in control panel. Now, my computer has one compact flash, one memory stick and one smart media card port, so it comes up with those in portable devices. There are four usb 2.0 ports in the front and four in the back - i hope that helps you help me!

cheers

Did you try un-installing the driver, but NOT re-installing it? This may seem a tad obvious, but meh.

What should happen is it should come up with either a "USB removeable storage" thing, or a "new audio device found" thing, from where it should be easy to set up... If not, I'm afraid I can't help you!! If it doesn't, try running a windows update and getting the newest USB drivers (unless you already have them) other than that, I can't think of anything!
