A controversial website by Norwegian shock rappers Gatas Parlament (Street Parliament) has returned to the web. Earlier this month Norwegian police closed the site, which urged Norwegians to put a bounty on the head of President Bush.

In a press release last week, the group said that they have moved the site out of Norway and will keep moving the site around if necessary. Gatas Parlament says that the police has no right to shut their site down and that the web page is not threat to the US president's safety.

The Norwegian rappers also encourage others to mirror the original site "on the condition that you don't alter our content". However, that original site - hosted by Lycos at http://killhimwith.bazooka.at/once - was again closed this weekend.

The website was originally a spoof on Tellhim.no, where artists took donations to pay for an anti-Bush campaign in the Washington Post. Band member Elling Borgersrud says the American embassy in Oslo, which pressed charges against the website, lacks "a sense of humor".

Kind of funny in a way. Reminds me of Varg Vikernes incident in 1994, where he burned churches and threatened the Norwegian royal family :\\

Gatas Parlament is a laugh!
They are against everything and believes any publicity is good publicity.
They've, amongst others, created an image by trashing public property in a protest against high taxes not realicing that it's actually tax money that will have to pay for the repair for the damage they've done...
Just a bunch of young rebels that take any means to get publicity.
"I hate my parents because they made me but I'm happy to be alive"- kind of rebels.
It's all just a stupid stunt to see how far things can be streched.

It's a bit hard to explain but; Kind of like the Beasty Boys back in the 80's; So extreme that people should really understand that they can't be serious.
A line from one of their songs are "We're really aginst money but we need a bit of cash" ought to demonstrate what I mean:
Rackers Delight (It's in Norwegian)

Its usually in northern countries, to accept and to be accepted. Next to deep traditions respecting the new "waves"

That band should be castrated then jailed in an african prison. And you promoting this, even though not directly, isnt very smart of you. Theres four more years to go for Bush and that still wouldnt be the end of him. Terrorists declared war on the world, and Bush is giving them back an answer. As for civilians who get injured, they should know that casualties are inevitable in war... and the few American soldiers who complain about going to Iraq, what did they think they signed up for, the girlguides group? Or just a way to make a quick buck! Those countries that protest dont have the balls and/or the finanancial ability to do anything but bìtch all the way abt it being evil, well yes it is a necessary evil!

I do not disagree with your comment but what you're saying is based on the exact same lack of knoledge to the story behind the site as everyone else who has only seen "Killhim.nu".
It was opened up as a humoruos angeled site to www.tellhim.no.
I disagree on the reopening of the site, and believe that they ought to realice the seriousity of it all when the US Embassy raises their voice, but they just love the publicity they're getting from all this.

All in all Gatas Parlament is a rap band with heavy political lyrics that express their views in a "street language" that kids understand and can relate too.

I am 35 years old and not much in to rap music but felt like doing a bit of research when this topic came up. Did a quick look through last night before my first reply here. After that I got qurious and looked closer at the band, listened to ther songs and was surpised by my own reaction to it all. I actually liked most of what I heard!
Don't get me wrong; I disagree on the reopening if thesite amed in the heading here, but the band have someting to them that appeals to me. Contriversal, yes but they bark worse than they bite.
