Hi all,
Im new to this forum, and I have a problem....
I bought a USB lead over the weekend for my SE K700I Mobey, and installed the relevant software and the SE software which came with the phone.
When I installed the SE software, all the proggrammes had icons except "File manager" (which is the proggramme I want to use). On the desktop though "My phones" icon was there, so I clicked on it and it detected my phone. I opened the icon and opened "phone memory" then it displayed all the folders contained in my phone - Sounds - Others - Themes - Pictures. I thought great!! just open the folders then I can drag and drop files in (games, ringtones etc) Nope!!!!! It just said "Unable to connect - an unexpected error occured" Now I know the pc is communicating with my phone because in Image editor I can download pics from my pc to my phone!!!
Is this programme the file manger or summat else? I went on the SE website and downloaded the latest file manager software - still no joy. I uninstalled it, installed it, installed it again and even kicked the cat.... That didnt work!! By now as you can imagine, im getting slightly peeved and my patience was slowly running out.
So I went onto this SE forum were there was LOADS of people with the same problem!!! some of the things to check I did...
1, Check the com port is correct
2, Check the baudrate is 9600
3, Make sure the cable drivers are correctly installed
4, Make sure cable is compatible
5, Switch phone on and off
6, re- boot pc
7, DOWNLOAD FMA !!!!
I thought oh I have checked 1-6 are ok and they are and then I remembered that FMA was actually included with the software disc I got with the cable. So getting very excited, I installed FMA connected my phone and clicked "connect"...... Then it loaded quite a few things and then came up with this error.....
ERROR RETRIEVING TELECOM\PB\INFO.LOG:UNAUTHORISED
So I checked...
1, Com port stting
2, baudrate
3, Enabled only 1 com port
4, Disabled summat in OBEX
So Im really stuck now!!! I cant get file manager to work and cant get FMA to work. All I want to do is transfer files from my pc to me mobey!!! Surely it cant be that difficult!!! Is there another way to do this???
Can someone please help - Before I slit my wrists!!!!!
