Expanding the 100 SMS limit of the K700i? |
pantelis Joined: Nov 04, 2004 Posts: 27 PM |
Hi. It is known that the K700i has a maximum SMS memory of 100 messages. Somewhere in Esato i read that if you save the SMS messages on template folder then you can have more than 100 SMS as they not been saved on the SMS memory but on the 41MB memory of the phone. Is that truth? And how do you save a incoming or previously send message to the template folder?
Secondly... when i send a SMS it automatically appears in "send items" folder. What is the "Outbox" folder for? What is its use? It is always empty.
Thank you guys in advance.

I dont know about the first questions, but the outbox folder is for storing sms, mms or email that you have written but havent sent yet. Once you sent them, they will appear in sent items folder:-)

Hi namal. Thanks for your response. A not-sending message is stored in the draft folder and not in the outbox. Did you meant anything else? Is there a draft folder in your phone to? |

Hi, pantelis, i was the one who said that you can save any number of sms in the template folder.. yes, you can. it's so easy. you just highlight a sms, whether one in your inbox or one you've sent, then click More to open the message options, click Saved Message to Templates. Your saved message will also saved in the Template Folder. Of course, without any details of the sender/recipient/time or else, but the full content of the message is saved completely. You can add a title in each template if you like. I usully add a title which contains the information of the sender/time. Extra work of course, but not annoy me much.
However, the Draft folder is for messages you've already typed but not yet sent. The Outbox folder is for multimedia messages only. When you're in sending process of an MMS, your MMS is store temporarily in Outbox folder before it moves to the Sent Messages folder when it's sent to the recipient.

Let me see if it works. Mms are not counted on the 100 number limit i believe. And outbox is for mms that are in the process of sending.

Unbelievable. I never went to "save message" before to see that submenu, because i believed that the "save message" option was going to save the SMS to SIM card. Thank you Amras. Thank you so much!!! The "Title" tip is also great!
The MMS beyond the 100 limit? Great! Thanks gogigov.
Thank you guys. |

Hi again. Have you find any PC software able to backup/restore the contents of the template directory? I try some of them with no luck. They do a backup of the SMS directories (inbox, oubox, sent etc... ) but not the template directory.
