The company I work for has banned camera phones due to confidential images appearing on the net and in magazines.I have a k700i and would like to know if it is possible to remove the camera and video function but still be allowed to play downloaded video's.I bought the phone mainly for the radio and mp3 player and am really impressed overall.I don't want to go back to a lesser model or make, so any suggestions?

Just take the lens portion out. You'll be left with a hole unless you put something there. I got a funny story, recently went to buy a new car and you know dealers will never let you have the sheet of paper where they have the price they offer you, well I took a picture of the sheet and price to another place and they beat it by $500.(Actually the place where I bought it from was the first place I went to, they told be to shop around and if I get a good price to bring proof back and they'll beat it by $500.
If it weren't for bad lucks, I would have no lucks at all.

I know this post is abit late but n e wayz....

Hopefully they'll be bluetooth technology that will disable camera functions on a Nokia phone. I read ages ago that three japanese students programmed software and found a way to block access to the camera functions, but only with Nokia mobiles.... sounds interesting eh?!

Heres a Suggestion:
Get a Rubber Pad protector for your make of mobile or any other make that fits your k500i and use it; it hides your camera as well as the camera wont take pictures that is clear or wont even get any picture from it. Solves it as well as make the people there check it out

H m m m m . . . I ' don't ' think this is possible As the fone is designed with it. As if you would like to say - that it is possible to remove the 'call' features of your K700i mate as well . If ever it is, I guess it will leave some 'bad marks' on the fone's mechanism or the way it will function - as a whole Good Luck though mate!

Here´s a suggestion to all phone manufacturers, Are you listening? Good!
Please let ME decide whether i want a Happy Meal/Fisher Price crapola camera in my phone or not.
I have a proper camera already and i want a phone!
I mean, they put a man on the moon back in -69 (i think it was) How hard coukd it be to offer something like K700i without the damn camera and a K700ic WITH camera for those who really want it?!
End of rant.

Cheers!

I confirm: first man on the Moon was Neil Armstrong on the 21st of July 1969.

I think the Russian - Gagarin was the very first to make steps on the moon, as Armstrong's was made in the Hollywood theaters - to make it more real . . .

Still, there is NO way (I guess) you can remove the cam feature on the fone . . .

Gagarin was the first man to fly into space, but never went to the Moon, as no russian ever went to the Moon. And anyway, Gagarin killed himself flying a plane while being completely drunk.

And, would it not be simpler to buy a phone without a camera to start with?
