One more Japanese mobile phone manufacturer decided to enter to the world 3G WCDMA market. Sanyo and Smartone (3rd largest mobile operator) in Hong Kong signed an agreement to co-operate in the upcoming 3G network in Dec 2004. Sanyo will exclusively provide 3G handsets to Smartone customers in Hong Kong. The new Sanyo SX813 will be the first 3G phone model. Smartone planned to introduce the handset in the first quarter of 2005. Their 3G network becomes live in Dec 2004. More than 10 prototype handsets has just arrived to Hong Kong for Smartone internal testing. The Sanyo SX813 is in slider style. The size is not small because it comes with a large 2.4 inch color display. The weight is little bit heavier than Sharp GX 30. The phone also comes with a SD card slot for memory expansion. The Sanyo SX 813 supports two-way video conference. The presentation can be seen in our live pictures. Although the phone and network are still in a trial phase, the video call quality is still smooth and clear. The phone also has twin 1 mega pixel camera. Smartone said the phone would be a middle to higher ended model. More, up to 3 Sanyo 3G WCDMA phones will come to Hong Kong in 2005. At the same time, Sanyo will choose appropriate models to more European 3G networks. [addsig]
