Syncing K700i - Outlook 2003: daylight time problem |
DeLa Joined: Jan 22, 2003 Posts: > 500 From: PM |
I sync my K700i (R2L) with the SE software to the Outlook 2003 calendar. That works fine except for this:
- make an 'all-day'-event in OL
- sync
- event goes from 01:00 till 00:59 the next day
so two days are in bold in the calendar.
Also a lot of times are set an hour wrong. It clearly has to do with daylight saving time changes. How do I correct this? It is rather annoying. |

Ok I have just your test and it works fine for me. The calendar entry is created for 00:00-23:59 on the one day
so, lets just go through the settings.
on the PC double click the time in the system tray and ensure it is correct. Click the timezone tab and ensure it is also correct (for you it should be GMT+01:00). If you have to change this go back to the date & time tab and make sure the time is set correctly again.
on the phone go to settings, time&date. In daylight saving ensure it is set correct. it should say standard time (ths first option), in Time zone it should be set time GMT+1:00h. If you have to change any of these be sure to go into Time and make sure it now reads the correct time again
assuming you had to change any of the above redo your test and it should now work fine as I can't think of anything else that would affect this

Thanks for your reply. I'll check all that when I'm back at my home PC, tonight, and let you know.
The calendar function on the K700 is pretty good. I might just as well use it as my main calendar (now working on a filofax).

To make a long story short, I have changed and reset almost all the time settings that might possibly have some kind of effect on the calendar in Outlook, and then also in the phone, which was set to GMT +2 instead of +1.
I'm so glad it works correct now - because otherwise the phone would be redundant in a way.
How easy it is to set time on machines that stand aloen. Any setting that produces the right time on that one clock is ok.
Well learned a lot. Thanks for the hint. |
