I was having problems getting Ericsson Phone Settings to recognize my T68i. I added the following line
"1130202-BVT68=T68,2,frmVcardAddressList,frmVcardDetails,frmAddressList,
frmVbDetails,frmSMSList,frmVbReadSMS"
and now the software detects and recognizes the phone well. Sometimes, however, the software is unable to retrieve settings from the phone, such as ringtones, message templates and so on. It gives me an error saying "Retrieve Failed. The phone could not perform the requested operation" Any ideas, anyone?

use version R4A of the suite and no need to tinker with the ini file. And yes the Phone Settings won't get the ringtones now, because ringtones can be very, very long.

I used R4A package but still cannot access the Phone setting part for "Message Templates"

when trying to access Message Templates it reports

"The Phone could not perform the requested Operation"

anyone else confirm this?

T68m Upgraded to R2B025 Firmware.

I'm still having the same problem.
My phone is a T68i and I tried installing Package 4 but I still can't access the Message Templates section through the software.

Someone help me

Verify what the software version is on the splash screen at
startup. I have 3.1.5.2 and it works fine for me. I can get to
the message templates and create/edit them.

What connection are you using ? I have a DRS-11 connected
to a ThinkPad running NT4SP6.

And my is a T68m with vanilla R1B (yes I know...)

I checked and the software version I have on the splash screen is also 3.1.5.2. I just can't seem to understand why (almost) everything else would work but not this feature.

I've tried using all of Bluetooth , a USB cable to connect to the phone and IRDA and I get the same results so I doubt it's a problem with the connection - everything else works fine.

Connected to a Fujitsu Lifebook running WinXP Home.

So since we have the same setup and I really don't think
it's the PC (nor WinXP) I guess then that it's the phone. As
I still have R1B, I'll post here if I run in the same issue with
R2B

Or maybe the software release does not support R2B yet ?
If I were you I'd try Ericsson's customer service by email.

Do you have many templates in the phone already ? I just
had one when I connected and it worked for me.

Sorry, stay tuned.

Hi,

Am using an upgraded T68m with R2E0006 and MSI USB BlueTooth Key.

Also having the same problem of the the phone setting s/w not able to get the ringtones and message templates. Already using the R4 version of MPM.

Anyone else have any idea how to overcome? Any other s/w that does the same thing, especially backup/transfer ringtones?

Thanks..

think this is a bug in the RA4 software and it doesn;t recognise the new firmware upgrades. the firmware must store the templates in a different part of ram than the R1 Firmware
