Apple ipod warrenty? |

Hi guys just a quick question about apple ipod warrenties are they world wide as when i got to new york i was planning on getting a ipod photo and mini, so i just wanna be sure about the warrenties before i go.

I would imagine that they are, but I am not completely sure. They might not be considering that Britain and America use different power systems, this might be an issue that would invalidate an American warranty.

I seem to remember that when I got my ipod mini (uk), there were some territorial limits on the warranty.
I could imagine that a US version would not be covered for warranty in the UK. I base this on the fact that there are marked differences in the versions offered for sale in the US and UK respectively e.g. the sound output is different. The US version is louder, I can't remember the exact decibel differences, but this is due to an EU directive concerning 'safe' volume levels for such devices.
Additionally, to illustrate the barrier that apple has put in place between the two markets, itunes is strictly regulated e.g. if you purchase an itunes gift voucher (on itunes UK) it is only transferrable to other UK users, and not US users.
If you haven't found a definite solution yet, I could try to dig out my warranty to see if I can give you an accurate answer.
