Yes FMA does run on Windows XP.

How your phone is connected to the computer? (Data cable/IR/Bluetooth)

I am using a bluetooth connection. I can transfer files using the bluetooth software pictures, themes music but not games ! as when i try to send a game it only goes to the OTHERS folder.

So after reading some threads I decided to load the FMA but says it is connected but I can not see anything in the folders , addresses etc ?

any ideas ?

Are those games for K7? Do you upload *.jar files?

Hi,
a .jad file is simply a text file that can be opened in notepad and is of little (or no use) to this phone. Upload the .jar files only! (The jad file typically describes the contents of a jar file that it is associated with.)

This may sound stupid, but have you uninstalled and reinstalled FMA? Also, are you running the computer with administrative privileges?

Cheers

@h17arv - I'm kinda confused with the heading of your thread mate, all along I thought it was sending games from your K700i to your PC, as it states - UPLOAD When I still had my K7 back then, I download games ONLINE, as you can see there is that ONLINE button on the fone's right hand corner mate. Here, I just click the said button, and PRESTO, I am already connected with SE's website, or an affiliate of SE I guess. As there, you can find themes (defaults mostly), images and games (limited) to download. Just a thought here dude.

Why don't you just:

1. establish your BT connection
2. right click on the .jar file
3. select "Send To" and select your mobile device.

This will cause your phone to prompt of an incoming file.

4. You will need to accept it by clicking the phone's softkey "Yes"

and the .jar file will be sent to the Games section of your phone. It will prompt again once the sending is finished if you want to use it now. Press softkey "Yes" if you want to use it or "No" if you want to open it later.

To check, open your phone's menu, select File Manager and select Games.
resistance is futile.

Are you sure you have a BT or cable connection between pc and phone?

I installed the bundled SE software which contains a "file manager" which appears to be some explorer-extra that shows 'My Phones' in the root of the explorer. Then you can click open and see what the phone makes available of its memory.

To load a game into the phone drag the *jar file to the top level of the phone, not in one of the directories, the phone will receive the file, recognise it as a java-game and 'install' it.

The same goes for all other files, if you drag-drop them on the phone-icon, phone recognises and puts in right folder.

FMA looks better and has some nifty features but not all does work with the k700, so you'll need the SE software anyway for some tasks.

I definately have the BT connection which plugs into the usb and sends via bluetooth to the phone no cable connection. When i try to do the above the .jar files just go into the OTHERS folder !!

Will try to place them into the root and see if it automatically relocates to the games folder !!

cheers will keep you informed

There's a chance the .jar file is corrupted or it isn't really a .jar file. Otherwise, I suspect 2 possibilities.
1. Your PC is set to hide extensions and what you see is the filename with a .jar in it. - Try to set you PC folder options to view the extensions and make sure that they are indeed .jar files.
2. The file that was originally downloaded is .zip and the extension was simply changed to .jar -- Turn it back to .zip and unzip it in your PC before uploading it to your phone.

These are just possibilities that you might have missed. Let us know how it goes as I never had any problems uploading games to my K700i.
resistance is futile.

Hi - I'd be interested if you were ever able to use Bluetooth to transfer your jars from your PC to your K700. And, if so, what you did to get it working. I'm trying to do the same thing. Thanks!

just send the game once downloaded without unzipping it, but as a whole file straight into the phones memory, not the (other) file. without using win-rar or anything. just simply click and drag the whole file straight to phones memory - the k700i will automatically put it into the games folder!
