well i think i would rather replace batteries once in a while than to be stuck with a crappy looking mouse pad! and noones died from battery static electricity so i dont know what the hell they are yacking on about. talk about propaganda! and also special mouse mats are always so large.
i just have a thin small fellowees optical mouse pad with special plastic covering for maximum performace for my samsung optical mouse.
together they cost 15 quid, and have lasted 6 months without fail!
(and my mouse mat is off the carribean, makes me feel happy at my little desk in newcastle upon tyne )

i dont have a mousemat. Ive got one of the very first microsoft optical mouseseses (£40!) and ive had it coming up on 4 years, still going strong. Its a great mouse, it really is.
