Sony has Apparently confirmed Gran Turismo 5 for their next generation super console the PS3, it is also said to be incorporating real time visible damage to the cars, and you will be able to import images of real cars by using sonys eyetoy. still a very, very long way off but something to look forward to. GT4 only 3 months to go!

Long time indeed as GT4 isn't even out.
It's about time there were changes though! GT4 will be just the same as 1, 2 & 3 but new cars/tracks & graphics. Don't think I'm gonna get it.
5 however!!
-Damage: ABOUT BLOODY TIME!!
-Extra cars via EyeToy: Now THAT is an innovation!!

@ davo_169 i'm not to sure about the actual spec for PS3 but we are talking massive power here, all i know is that it will be able to play new BLU-RAY dvd discs apparently these discs can hold upto 50 times more data than a standard dvd disc. woah!

how would you take pictures of cars with the eye-toy? will the ps3 be portable or someting!! one way would be to buy a car mag and take pictures from them. its a cool idea actually, i could see how it would work |

Having thought about it I can see it being incredibly difficult!
The EyeToy is not portable as it only works when connected so u can't go outside. So u can only take pics in the house or through your window!
Next u would need pics of the car from every angle!
It's then gonna be very hard to make those fit a 3D shell! Also how does it know what shape the shell should be!!?
Then we come onto handling & performance etc.
The more u think, the more unlikely it becomes!

@ mikLSP i hear what you're saying, and i dont quite understand if they mean import real cars via the eyetoy or just the real images of cars, but what good would the pictures be? i think they are just blowing smoke out of their virtual exhaust pipes. however its a good concept though.

The earliest we could see PS3 is by Christmas 2005. However, we should see Sonys next generation game console at that date or other next gen game consoles by the end of next year. Currently none of the big three console makers has announced a new game console or any release date for it.
